  • 01 August, 2024

Description

Kabuhayan, meaning livelihood, is a key within the L3P that embodies the commitment to fostering economic sustainability and empowerment. It is designed to transform grassroots talent into innovators and entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic ecosystem where individuals are not just job seekers but contributors to economic growth.

Programs

Grassroots to Innovators to Entrepreneurs. Implementing initiatives to empower individuals at the grassroots level to evolve into innovators and entre- preneurs. This involves providing training, mentorship, and resources to cultivate a culture of innova- tion and entrepreneurship within local communities.

Job Generation through Commercialization Activities. Launching programs aimed at commercializing innovations to generate employment opportunities. This involves supporting inventors and innovators in bringing their ideas to market, thereby creating jobs and contributing to economic development.

Sustainable Livelihood Programs. Collaborating with local and national governments, non-government organizations, and academia to develop sustainable livelihood programs. These programs are crafted to ensure long-term economic stability, incorporating environmentally conscious practices and ethical business principles.

Creation of Omni-Channel Marketplaces. Encourage the establishment of omni-channel marketplaces, e.g., online stores, mortar-and-brick (physi- cal) stores, mobile apps, etc., that serve as platforms for showcasing and promoting Filipino products and services. These marketplaces act as vibrant hubs where local entrepreneurs can connect with consumers, fostering economic growth and community development.

Tax Holidays for Innovative Industries. Advocating for policies that provide tax incentives, including tax holidays, for industries engaged in innovation. This initiative aims to attract and retain innovative businesses, fostering an environment conducive to growth and investment in the inventive and creative sectors.

Financing innovation and invention. Monitor and expand the availability of grants and innovative loans in cooperation with financial institutions, including angel investors and venture capitalists. For example, expand support for Innovation and Technology (I-TECH) Lending Program , a dedicated lending program that offers favorable terms and conditions, including low-interest rates and flexible repayment options, to facilitate access to capital for entrepreneurial ventures.
