Description

The Karunungan key focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation to propel the next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, and inventors. The goal is to enact enabling laws for mandatory human capital development, ensuring that education becomes a powerful tool for the marginalized inventors and innovators.

Programs

Enabling Legislation for Human Capital Development. Draft and advocate for legislation that mandates comprehensive human capital development programs, emphasizing innovation, entrepreneurship, and inventiveness. These programs will be integrated into the national education curriculum, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills needed for future success.

Enhancing School Support Mechanisms at the Earliest Stage. Introduce comprehensive mecha- nisms aimed at bolstering educational institutions to cultivate an environment conducive to innovation, particularly at the basic education levels. Launch initiatives to champion educational programs focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging young minds to embark on these endeavors from the earliest age possible. For higher educational institutions, champion the establishment of innovation hubs, collaborative spaces, and mentorship programs within school premises to provide an enriched environment that nurtures creativity and inventive thinking.

Invention Competitions Support. Collaborate with government agencies such as DOST, CHED, DepEd, TESDA, DA, and DTI to support and harmonize existing invention competitions. These competitions will serve as platforms for showcasing innovative ideas, products, and solutions, creating a bridge between educational institutions and industry needs. “Innovation of the Grassroots” Education Caravan. Launch an “Innovation of the Grassroots” education caravan, specifically designed to empower micro-enterprises through training programs. These programs will cover a range of topics, including design thinking, financial management, marketing strategies, and business model canvas design. The caravan will traverse various regions, ensuring that even the most remote areas have access to innovation education.

Promote Academe-Industry Linkages. Establish partnerships and linkages with industry players to provide students and educators with real-world insights and experiences. This can include internships, industry-sponsored projects, and mentorship programs that bridge the gap between academia and industry. Foster Innovation through R&D Grants and Technology Transfer Programs. Champion the allocation of Research and Development (R&D) grants tailored for educational institutions, incentivizing their active participation in research activities that propel innovation and invention. This strategic approach aims to cultivate a robust research culture within educational institutions, establishing a pipeline for groundbreaking ideas to flourish. To enhance the likelihood of transforming inventive concepts into commercial realities, advocate for the development of programs facilitating the seamless transfer of technology from research institutions to the private sector. This endeavor actively encourages the commercialization of inventions and innovations originating from educational settings, bridging the gap between academic exploration and real-world application.
